I feel like I’ve been sleeping on purple. Burgundy? Have plenty of it. Tan/camel/beige? Constantly buying it. I even have some bright pink. But purple? Not so much. Other than lavender, I really don’t own any purple. So when I saw this cardigan while shopping at LOFT, I knew I had to try it on. It’s soft, cozy and has zero wool in it so it is itch free (praise be!). It’s also light enough to wear to the office. The sleeves are even stretchy enough that you can easily push them up or roll them up if you get too warm. I chose to wear this sweater buttoned up and half-tucked, but you can just as easily wear it open with a short-sleeve turtleneck or t-shirt underneath.
I’ve found myself wearing more cardigans and sweaters and fewer jackets as of late. I used to be the jacket queen. However, I’ve found with going back to the office post-fully remote work, I prefer to go with more comfortable options that won’t feel at all restrictive. Enter: cardigans. This time of year they’re perfect because they feel cozy and fit under coats (for that trek from your car to the building) easier than a jacket does. I won’t be tossing my jackets anytime soon, but for the moment I’m leaning into sweaters.
We also have another faux leather skirt. I told you I was very into faux leather this year, and I wasn’t lying! This skirt has an elastic waist and pockets. Who doesn’t love a good pocket? The elastic waist makes it easy to sit in all day and won’t have you regretting the outfit you picked out in the morning. Which brings me to an important point: don’t be afraid to wear faux leather to the office. Pair it with flats or heels to dress it up a little and add a jacket if you really need it to be dressier to fit your office’s dress code. As long as you don’t dress it up the way you might wear it out to the bar, I find faux leather perfectly fine for the office if you have a jeans casual / smart casual / business casual dress code. If your office is business professional, I probably would avoid faux leather unless you dressed it up a little more in the form of a pencil skirt or sheath dress like this one, this one, or this one.
